FA cross country dominated the course at the 1A Mideast Regionals. The guys' team notched another historic first as they crushed their long time rival, Raleigh Charter, to become regional champs. Placing four runners in the top ten, the guys scored an unbelievable 41 points to Raleigh Charter's 86. Aaron Rovnak, Jeddy Waldon, Zach Bunner and Jonathan Wertz made the all region team while teammates Caleb Robinson, Quintyn Bob and Adan Rodriguez rounded out the top 25 finishers with personal best times all under 19 minutes. The girls continued the theme by placing four girls on the all region team--Caitlyn Burkett, Sam Burr, Taylor Roberts and Hannah Franklin. Leah Given followed close behind with an 11th place finish, while Merytt Haney and Anna Schulz wrapped up the top 20. Both teams will compete in the state championship on Nov. 4 in Kernersville.
