VOYAGER ACADEMY HS: 7
Tough conference loss 2-7, and our first loss of the season. We lost all the singles. Bonnie won the most games in her match losing 4-6, 2-6. Everybody won games, just not enough. Many deuces, but most went to Voyager. In doubles we did better. At #1 Casey and Bonnie played well together again and won 8-4. At #2 Erin and Claire were down 1-4 but fought back to tie it at 7-7. Then Voyager took the next 2 games to win the match 9-7. Still a valiant comeback. At #3 Anastasia and Christina were in an even worse spot falling behind 0-5. They do not quit. With aggressive net play they then won 8 of the next 11 games, tying the score at 8-8. In a tense tie-breaker they prevailed 9-7 to win the match. Fabulous job. Maybe it helped that they spoke to each other in Ukranian while playing, confounding their opponents.
